Old timers might remember our Jean de Vigne house wines, and a chance encounter with the importers at the London Wine Show and they’re back in stock. Like everything, they’ve gone up in price (to £6.75) but so has the quality. Back in the day, it was the dry white that blazed the trail but now it’s the red. Mainly Tannat with a dash of Merlot, it’s soft, juicy and very easy drinking – impossible not to like.
We also have a couple of new organic wines from Sicliy. Made by Feudo di Santa Tresa (who also make our no added sulphur Insieme), there’s a red Nero d’Avola blend and white Catarratto. Both are perfect summer drinking and cost £7.49.
