Southern Rhône, France. Made by Chateauneuf-du-Pape superstar, Beaucastel.
The best Cotes du Rhone bar none – from a vineyard neighbouring Chateau de Beaucastel Chateauneuf-du-Pape. ‘Salty and interesting. Lots here with many layers. I'd happily drink this in any circumstances – though preferably with food! Sinewy’. (Jancis Robinson)
Coudoulet takes its name from a lieu-dit, which lies just outside the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation. With similar soils and an equally high percentage of Mourvedre to Beaucastel, it is often known as 'Baby Beaucastel'.
