Bodega Garzón Estate, Pinot Noir Rosé
100 in stock
Delicate pale salmon in colour, this elegant, expressive wine has intense aromas of strawberries and raspberries on the nose. Red cherries dominate the crisp palate which also exhibits distinct mineral notes and a lovely fresh acidity.
'Delicate pale pink. Pretty red fruits on the nose, with an attractive chalky fragrance. Light, scented and even a little chalky in texture, which gives a rather nice dry, gently tannic finish to hide the fact that it's not bone dry. Cleverly made.' (Julia Harding on Jancis Robinson 16/20)
'Grown and picked to make rosé rather than a red wine, at least for now, this is a modern, direct-pressed pink that's just the ticket if you're planning a visit to the beaches of nearby Punta del Este. Fresh and sappy, with rose petal and watermelon flavours and some pomegranate zip. Drink 2020-22' (Tim Atkin MW – 91 points)
We first tasted the Bodega Garzón wines at the Liberty Wines portfolio tasting in January. Not surprisingly, they were at the end of the Argentine table and after a dozen heavy, oaky Malbecs they were a revelation. Perfectly balanced, they were like fine Clarets compared with the proceeding Mendoza blockbusters. The whites and rosés are equally good, if not better.
