I’m not sure why it’s been on the back burner but now it’s firmly back on the hot plate. Our version, somewhere between Brussels and Ardennes in texture, was one of the first things we made thirty plus years ago. The recipe has hardly changed – apart from a minor tweak or two when we had some French students working at the shop a few years ago. So we were charcuting with the experts.
It’s perfect on a slice od Almond Thief sourdough toast with a generous spoon of our cucumber pickle (another old favourite) so to celebrate a heavonly marriage, buy a slice and get a jar of the above mentioned pickle for half price. Voila!
