Do you have what it takes to lead and develop a team and build sales and customer service in our foodie farm shop?
Our recently refurbished farm shop at Yealmpton serves over 2000 customers per week and offers an extensive range of locally and ethically-sourced produce, including from our own farm kitchen. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and charismatic manager to grow and develop the untapped potential of the shop. The role encompasses all aspects of the shop including fresh produce, grocery, butchery and café so you’ll need to be highly organised, dynamic and thrive under pressure.
We are all about ‘good food from good farming and good business’ so you’ll combine your love of good food and fabulous local produce with the proven skills to lead and motivate a team to achieve excellent customer service, an interesting and pleasurable shopping experience for customers and to grow sales, as well as the fundamentals of good business management.
This is a hands-on role so you’ll be ‘doing’ as well as ‘managing’ – helping customers, managing stock, building supplier relationships, organising and developing the team, as well as leading by example and engaging with existing and new customers alike. You’ll take a personal pride in the appearance of the shop and merchandise products in ways that engage customers and build sales. You’ll work hard to inspire this in the team and to build product knowledge alongside instilling your passion for great customer service.
Our shop managers play a key role in the success of our business and you’ll be involved in business decisions to develop the shop, as well developing your own skills. You’ll have relevant retail management experience, have a genuine interest in good food and be a customer service champion. You’ll have the autonomy to make your mark as well as the support to establish yourself in this role and will ultimately be responsible for the success of this shop.
