DESCRIPTION:Hopefully you will have seen our Christmas wine picks in our brochure by now\, all of which are in stock in the tapas bar and Yealmpton. You can also find most of them at Staverton and a well chosen few in Totnes and Exeter too. We’ve got some really special wines this year – from our great value Finca Fabian\, Doblez\, Jean de Vigne and Paparuda ranges through to a stunningly good 2010 St Estèphe Bordeaux (Chateau le Crock – yes the name helped) and a red Banyuls pudding wine which is the perfect partner for chocolate puddings. However\, just reading about them isn’t going to help you pick your favourites\, so we’ll be having our Christmas wine tasting in the bar on Thursday 13th December from 5pm – 9pm. Please do come along – it’s a great chance to try before you buy and be sure of your choices. We’re also offering 10% off purchases of twelve bottles or more of the wines on our Christmas list. \n

DESCRIPTION:We will be having a bit of a tasting day at the Staverton shop on Saturday\, 23rd July\, starting at 12pm. Actually\, it’s a little more than that in that it will also be celebrating the opening of Barnaby’s Brewhouse. Located over the hill at Hole Farm\, next to our kitchen\, it’s been in the offing for so long that we’ve decided to take the bull by the horns and force his hand. He’s opening and that’s that! Lagers are Barnaby’s speciality and he’ll have a barrel of his finest on tap. As well as the normal lager we all know\, he’s also doing dark and red/amber versions. I’m no expert but they tasted pretty good to me. \nWe will also be doing a Chase Gin and Vodka tasting and having a BBQ in aid of local ‘Luck of Birth’ refugee charity for whom we have been raising money through our Labneh and Muhammara dips\, soups and the sale of vegetables contributed by my father (at Yealmpton only). Let’s hope for good weather and a good time will be had by all. So put it in your diary and watch out on Facebook for more news. \n
